Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Whisk together the soy sauce, sugar, chili garlic sauce, Chinkiang vinegar, crushed red pepper flakes, minced garlic, grated ginger, cornstarch, and water in a mixing bowl until well blended.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a small pot and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for 5-7 minutes until it bubbles gently and thickens.
  3. Continue cooking, stirring for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce is thick and glossy, similar to barbecue sauce.
  4. Remove from heat once the sauce thickens and let it cool for a few minutes before transferring to a storage container.
  5. Use immediately or store in the fridge for up to 4 days. Stir before use for best flavor.
