- Begin by carefully draining the silken tofu, then place it on a cutting board. Thinly slice the tofu into small squares, about half an inch thick.
- Next, take a ripe avocado, cut it in half, and remove the pit. Slice the avocado crosswise into thin pieces.
- On a serving platter, alternate the slices of tofu and avocado until the platter is filled.
- In a mixing bowl, combine grated garlic and ginger with light soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, Chinese black vinegar, and white pepper. Stir in two teaspoons of water.
- Drizzle the prepared dressing evenly over the arranged tofu and avocado slices.
- Sprinkle the finely chopped scallions on top of your salad and serve immediately.
