  • 1 lb Ground Beef Lean ground turkey is a great substitute.
  • 4 cups Cabbage Bok choy or kale can also be used.
  • 1 cup Shiitake Mushrooms Button mushrooms can be swapped in.
  • 2 stalks Green Onions Regular onions can be used as an alternative.
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce Tamari is a gluten-free alternative.
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil Substitute with vegetable oil if needed.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Fresh is ideal, but garlic powder can suffice.
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Ground ginger can be used if fresh isn’t available.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Begin by finely chopping the cabbage, green onions, shiitake mushrooms, garlic, and ginger.
  2. In a large pan or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the ground beef to the hot oil, breaking it apart as it cooks for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Toss in the chopped shiitake mushrooms and cabbage, sautéing for 3-5 minutes.
  6. Pour in the soy sauce, stirring to combine all ingredients and allow to cook for another minute.
  7. Remove from heat and serve immediately. Pair with steamed rice or enjoy on its own.
