Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by washing 3 small oranges thoroughly to remove any wax or residue. Slice them into thin ¼-inch rounds.
  2. In a large skillet, combine 3 cups of granulated sugar with 3 cups of water. Heat over medium-high heat until the sugar dissolves and starts to boil.
  3. Once boiling, reduce heat and add the orange slices in a single layer. Simmer for 45-60 minutes, turning occasionally.
  4. Remove slices from the syrup and place them on a wire rack to dry at room temperature for 24-48 hours.
  5. Roll dried slices in granulated sugar or dip them in melted chocolate for an added flavor twist.
