Cooking Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet, combine olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and cook for about 20 minutes until caramelized.
  3. Pour in white wine and deglaze the pan, simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Stir in beef broth and thyme, season with salt and pepper, and simmer.
  5. Add uncooked gnocchi and cook for 5-10 minutes until floating.
  6. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  7. Top with French bread slices and sprinkle with cheese.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is golden brown.
  9. Cool for 5 minutes before serving.
