  • 1 pound Top Sirloin Steak thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil can substitute with vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 8 ounces Brown Mushrooms thickly sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose Flour opt for gluten-free if needed
  • 1 cup Beef Broth low-sodium optional
  • 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream or half-and-half
  • 1 cup Sour Cream temper before adding
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard optional
  • to taste Salt & Black Pepper
  • 1/4 cup Green Onion or Parsley optional for garnish
  • 8 ounces Egg Noodles or wide pasta/rice

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat a large deep skillet over medium-high heat, adding 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  2. Sear the thinly sliced top sirloin steak for about 1 minute per side until brown. Transfer to a plate and cover to keep warm.
  3. Melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in the same skillet and add 1 finely chopped onion and 8 ounces of thickly sliced brown mushrooms. Sauté for 6 to 8 minutes.
  4. Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves and sauté for an additional minute.
  5. Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and cook for 1 minute while stirring.
  6. Pour in 1 cup of beef broth, scraping the bottom of the pan to deglaze. Then, add 1 cup of heavy whipping cream and stir.
  7. Temper 1 cup of sour cream by mixing it with a few spoonfuls of hot sauce, then stir this into the skillet.
  8. Incorporate 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard, along with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for a few minutes.
  9. Return the seared beef to the pan and mix well into the sauce, cooking for an additional minute.
  10. Serve the Beef Stroganoff over prepared egg noodles, garnishing with chopped green onions or parsley.
