Equipment

  • non-stick skillet
  • Large Bowl
  • Small pan
  • Slotted spoon
  • toaster oven or air fryer

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by slicing the boneless, skinless chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces. In a medium bowl, mix together the teriyaki sauce, ½ tablespoon sesame oil, low-sodium soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Add the chicken to the marinade and let it sit for about 10 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken pieces in a single layer, stirring occasionally. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is golden and no longer pink in the center.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the coleslaw mix, thinly sliced green onions, rice vinegar, honey, and the remaining sesame oil. Toss everything until well coated.
  4. In a small pan, heat about ½ inch of oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully add wonton wrappers, frying them for about 20-30 seconds on each side until they’re golden brown and crisp.
  5. To build your crispy chicken wonton tacos, take a fried wonton wrapper and fill it with a generous scoop of the cooked chicken and a handful of the vibrant slaw. Drizzle with sweet chili sauce, and for an extra touch, sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped cilantro on top.
