  • 2 cups Tomatoes Ripe and fragrant
  • 0.25 cups Red Onion Slice thinly or omit
For the Dressing
  • 0.25 cups Olive Oil Can substitute with mild vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar White wine vinegar can be used as a substitute
For the Garnish
  • 0.5 cups Fresh Basil Dried basil can be substituted
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Dill Fresh dill can be used if available
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the vegetables by washing them under cold running water and drying them thoroughly.
  2. Chop the cucumbers into uniform shapes and add them to a large mixing bowl.
  3. Slice the red onion thinly and add it to the bowl with the cucumbers.
  4. Cut the tomatoes into chunks, discarding any seeds, and mix into the bowl.
  5. Add chopped fresh basil and dried dill, mixing well.
  6. Drizzle olive oil and red wine vinegar over the salad, then season with salt and pepper. Toss gently.
  7. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least one hour to let flavors meld.
  8. Before serving, taste and adjust seasonings if necessary, then transfer to a serving bowl.
