Step-by-Step Instructions for Hawaiian Roll French Toast
  1. Prepare the custard mixture by whisking together 4 large eggs and 1 cup of half and half in a large mixing bowl until smooth. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, and a pinch of salt, whisking until fully incorporated.
  2. Take the King's Hawaiian Rolls and poke several holes into each roll with a toothpick or skewer. Arrange the rolls in a single layer on a cutting board or plate.
  3. Dip each roll into the custard mixture for about 30 seconds, then lift out and let excess custard drip off. Place soaked rolls on a separate plate.
  4. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat until bubbling. Add the soaked rolls to the skillet.
  5. Cook the rolls for about 30 to 60 seconds on each side until golden brown. Use a spatula to flip them gently.
  6. Transfer the cooked rolls to a serving platter, dust with powdered sugar, and top with fresh fruit and maple syrup.
