Dough Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine warm water with active dry yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until it’s foamy. Then mix in all-purpose flour, salt, and olive oil until a rough dough forms.
- On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm area for 2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Once risen, punch the dough down gently and grease a rectangular baking pan. Spread the dough in the pan, pushing it out to the edges with your fingertips.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F. Layer the top of the dough with Wisconsin Brick Cheese, leaving a small border. Spoon pizza sauce over the cheese and add your choice of toppings.
- Place the prepared pizza in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until edges are golden brown and cheese has melted.
- Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for about 5 minutes, cut into squares, and serve warm.
