For the Filling

  • 1 pound Shrimp Deveined and peeled.
  • 1 Onion Chopped.
  • 1 Bell Pepper (Red and Green) Chopped for color and crunch.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun Seasoning Adjust to heat preference.
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika For color and smokiness.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • to taste Cayenne Pepper (optional) Omit if you prefer milder dishes.
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella or Cheddar Cheese (optional) For rich finish.
  • to taste Fresh Parsley or Green Onions For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the tops off the green cabbages, core the centers, and rub with olive oil or butter, sprinkling generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, warm olive oil or bacon fat over medium heat. Sauté onion, bell peppers, and garlic for 5–7 minutes until softened.
  3. Add smoked sausage and shrimp, cooking with Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper until shrimp are pink.
  4. Stuff each cabbage with the mixture, then sprinkle cheese if desired before packing.
  5. Bake covered with foil for 40–50 minutes, remove foil, and bake for another 10 minutes until tender.
  6. Cool slightly; garnish and serve sliced into wedges.
