- Thaw and squeeze excess moisture from hash browns. Mix with cheddar, salt, and pepper; press into a greased springform pan and freeze for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Bake the crust for about 15 minutes until slightly golden and set. Let it cool.
- In a skillet, melt butter and sauté diced onions for 10-15 minutes until caramelized. Allow to cool.
