Cooking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, brown 1 pound of ground beef over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine one can of cream of mushroom soup with ½ cup of milk, whisk until smooth.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom of the greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle half of the cooked ground beef over the potatoes and add half of the diced onions.
- Pour half of the creamy soup mixture over these layers.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients, adding the last half of the soup mixture on top.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 60 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 20-25 minutes.
- If using cheese, sprinkle 1 cup on top during the last 10 minutes of baking.
- Let the casserole rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
