For the Nougat Layer
  • 1 cup Nougat Substitute marshmallow fluff for an easier option.
For the Crunch
  • 2 cups Rice Krispies Broken pretzel pieces can also be a fun alternative.
For the Ganache
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips Using a heavier cream will elevate the indulgence.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking Pan
  • Saucepan
  • Spatula

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine chocolate chip cookie dough, ensuring it’s well-blended. Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, press the cookie dough firmly into the bottom, and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the caramels until smooth. Pour the caramel mixture over the cooled cookie layer, spreading it evenly. Allow this caramel layer to cool and set.
  3. In a separate saucepan, combine nougat ingredients over medium heat. Stir until the mixture reaches a thick consistency (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat, allow to cool slightly, then pour over the caramel layer. Spread evenly.
  4. Fold Rice Krispies into your prepared chocolate ganache mixture. Spread the Rice Krispies and ganache over the nougat layer.
  5. After assembling all layers, refrigerate for 1-2 hours until firm. Cut into squares or bars using a hot knife.
