- In a small saucepan, combine 2 cups of sugar with 2 cups of water. Heat over medium-high until it boils, stirring until sugar dissolves (about 3-5 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool.
- In a large pitcher, add 4 cups of ice and 5 cups of cold, filtered water.
- Once the syrup has cooled, pour it into the pitcher with ice and water. Juice enough lemons to get 2 cups of lemon juice and stir to combine.
- Slice additional lemons and add them to the pitcher for presentation and flavor.
- If not serving right away, chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving over ice.
