Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by dicing the Red Delicious apples into small, even pieces. Toss the apples with 1 tablespoon of sugar and let them sit for 30 minutes.
  2. In your bread machine, add 1 cup of warm milk and ¼ cup of melted butter. Then, layer in 3 cups of flour, ½ cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 teaspoons of bread machine yeast.
  3. After the initial mixing, add the cured apple mixture into the bread machine.
  4. Close the bread machine lid and select the setting for a 1.5-pound loaf. Start the machine and allow it to complete the full cycle, which typically takes about 3 hours.
  5. Once the baking cycle is complete, remove the bread pan from the machine and let the bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes. Then, turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely for at least 15 minutes.
  6. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of icing sugar with 2 tablespoons of milk and 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Whisk these ingredients together until the glaze is smooth.
  7. Once the bread has cooled, drizzle the prepared glaze evenly over the top and allow it to set for about 20 minutes.
