Directions
  1. In a small bowl, combine 1 cup of warm whole milk with a pinch of white sugar. Sprinkle in 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a separate large mixing bowl, whisk together 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of white sugar, and ½ teaspoon of sea salt.
  3. Once the yeast mixture has become frothy, pour it into the bowl with the flour mixture. Add in 1 beaten large egg and ¼ cup of melted unsalted butter. Mix until the ingredients are combined into a sticky dough.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough ball in a greased bowl and cover it with a clean cloth. Allow it to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
  6. In a mixing bowl, combine ½ cup of sugar, ½ cup of all-purpose flour, ¼ cup of brown sugar, ¼ cup of cubed unsalted butter, and ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Mix with your fingers until crumbly.
  7. Punch down the dough and turn it out onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Roll and stretch the dough into your desired pizza shape, about ½ inch thick.
  8. Spread a generous layer of cherry pie filling over the shaped dough, making sure to distribute it evenly. Next, sprinkle the prepared streusel topping and add sliced almonds on top.
  9. Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the streusel is crisp.
  10. Prepare the icing by mixing 1 cup of powdered sugar with enough heavy cream to achieve a drizzling consistency. Once the pizza has cooled, drizzle the icing over the top.
