Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Thaw puff pastry at room temperature for 30-60 minutes or overnight in the fridge.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, beat cream cheese, white sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Add red food coloring and fold in half of the diced strawberries.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry until 1/8-inch thick. Cut into heart shapes and score a small rim around the edges.
  5. Fill each heart-shaped pastry with cream cheese filling and top with remaining strawberries. Brush edges with egg wash.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Fill your kitchen with the aroma of freshly baked danishes.
  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
