- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain and crumble.
- Slice or shred the cooked turkey. Aim for bite-sized pieces and set aside with the crumbled bacon.
- Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
- In the heated skillet, place two slices of bread butter-side down, layer with half of the cheese, turkey, and crumbled bacon, then top with the remaining cheese and another slice of bread butter-side up.
- Grill the sandwich for 3-4 minutes on each side until the bread is golden and the cheese melts.
- Remove from skillet, let cool for a moment, then slice and serve hot.
