Baking Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt 1/2 cup of butter in a saucepan over low heat, then stir in 1 cup of light brown sugar and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar.
- Once cool, whisk in 2 eggs, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons of liquid red food coloring.
- Gently fold in 1/2 cup of cocoa powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1 cup of all-purpose flour until just incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-40 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- After baking, cool the brownies in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Beat together 4 ounces of softened cream cheese, 1/4 cup of butter, a pinch of salt, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually add 2 cups of powdered sugar until spreadable.
- Spread the cream cheese frosting over the cooled brownies and cut into squares before serving.
