Method
 

Cake Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 6-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

  4. Beat eggs and sugar for about 6 minutes until pale and fluffy.

  6. Divide batter between pans and bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
  7. Cool the cakes on wire racks and let them cool completely.
  8. Whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  9. Layer whipped cream and strawberry jam between cake layers.
