Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 1.5-quart baking dish by greasing it lightly with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Cook the Pasta Shells: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the jumbo pasta shells for 8-9 minutes, just until al dente. Drain and rinse gently under cold water.
  3. Prepare the Filling: Chop the turkey into bite-sized pieces. In a mixing bowl, combine turkey, warmed mashed potatoes, onion, celery, garlic, and half of the cheese. Season with salt and pepper; stir well.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Spread about ¾ cup of gravy across the bottom of the baking dish. Fill each shell with the turkey mixture and arrange them snugly in the dish.
  5. Add Toppings: Pour remaining gravy over the shells and sprinkle with remaining cheese and dry bread stuffing if using.
  6. Bake the Shells: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until heated through and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Best enjoyed warm.
