Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking dish by greasing it lightly.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, and pepper until well incorporated.
- Transfer the meat mixture into your greased baking dish, pressing it firmly into an even layer. Bake for about 20 minutes.
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour, then slowly add milk, cooking until thickened. Add paprika, mustard, salt, and pepper.
- Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheese until melted, then fold in the cooked macaroni.
- Pour the macaroni and cheese mixture over the baked meatloaf, spreading it evenly.
- Return to oven and bake for an additional 25 minutes until melted and bubbly.
