Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking dish by greasing it lightly.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, and pepper until well incorporated.
  3. Transfer the meat mixture into your greased baking dish, pressing it firmly into an even layer. Bake for about 20 minutes.
  4. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  5. In a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour, then slowly add milk, cooking until thickened. Add paprika, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheese until melted, then fold in the cooked macaroni.
  7. Pour the macaroni and cheese mixture over the baked meatloaf, spreading it evenly.
  8. Return to oven and bake for an additional 25 minutes until melted and bubbly.
  9. Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving.
