For the Sausage
  • 1 pound Sausage (Andouille, Spicy Italian, Kielbasa, Chicken) choose according to preference
For Cooking
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil can substitute with canola or vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves Minced Garlic fresh garlic preferred
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup BBQ Sauce choose heat level
  • 2 tablespoons Honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
Optional Garnish
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley for garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add rotini pasta, cooking until al dente (8-10 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced sausage and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. Lower the heat and add minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Add BBQ sauce, honey, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Return cooked sausage to the skillet along with the drained pasta. Toss to coat evenly and heat through for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot.
