Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large pot, combine 8 cups of filtered water and 2 cups of flor de Jamaica. Optional add-ins can be added for extra flavor.
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce to low and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of cane sugar until dissolved. Let cool for about 15 minutes.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large jar or pitcher to remove the flor de Jamaica.
  5. If desired, dilute with additional water for taste and strength.
  6. Serve the Agua de Jamaica over ice and optionally squeeze lime or orange on top.
