Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by patting the chicken thighs dry with paper towels, seasoning with salt and pepper, then dredging in flour.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, sear chicken thighs skin-side down for 6-8 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Brown Italian sausage in the same skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side, then slice and set aside.
  4. Add smashed garlic and fresh rosemary to the skillet, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Introduce sliced bell peppers and pickled hot cherry peppers, stirring for 3-5 minutes.
  6. Deglaze the skillet with dry white wine, scraping up browned bits, and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add low-sodium chicken broth and nestle chicken thighs back into the pan, simmer for 12-15 minutes until cooked.
  8. Increase heat and whisk in cold unsalted butter, lemon juice, and zest for a glossy sauce.
