- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Spread a generous layer of butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice of bread butter-side down on a clean cutting board. Layer cheese on the unbuttered side, followed by ham.
- Spread a thin layer of fig jam on the unbuttered side of the second slice, top with additional cheese, and place it on top, buttered sides facing out.
- Place the sandwich in the air fryer basket, butter-side down, and set the timer for 8 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Remove the sandwich once golden brown, let it cool for a minute, then slice and serve.
