Step-by-Step Instructions

  2. Place the tuna steaks in a shallow dish, pour half of the marinade over the tuna, and marinate for about 10 minutes, flipping halfway.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add vegetable oil and let it shimmer for about 1 minute.
  4. Remove the tuna from the marinade and sear in the hot skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side.
  5. Pour the remaining marinade into the skillet and let it simmer over medium heat for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
  6. Remove the tuna from the skillet, let it rest for a couple of minutes, slice against the grain, and serve with the sauce.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and cilantro.
