Ingredients

For the Spaghetti
  • 8 oz Spaghetti Use your favorite pasta; whole wheat offers a healthier twist.
  • 4 cups Water Essential for boiling pasta to achieve that perfect al dente texture.
  • 1 tbsp Salt Enhances the flavor of both the pasta and the rich sauce.
For the Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil Adds richness and flavor; avocado oil serves as a great substitution.
  • 4-5 cloves Garlic (minced) The star flavor; feel free to use garlic powder in a pinch.
  • 1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes (optional) Introduces a nice heat; skip if you prefer a milder flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley Brightens up the dish; you can swap for basil for a unique twist.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese Provides creaminess and savory notes; nutritional yeast works well for a vegan option.
For the Garlic Bread
  • 1 loaf Italian Bread Use any crusty loaf for that satisfying crunch.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Imparts richness to the garlic butter; vegan butter is a fantastic alternative.
  • 4-5 cloves Garlic (for garlic butter) Ensure it's finely minced for an even garlic flavor boost.
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder (optional) Adds an extra layer of garlic goodness; not needed if fresh is used.

Cooking Instructions
  1. Fill a large pot with water and add a generous pinch of salt. Bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat, which should take about 10 minutes.
  2. Once the water is boiling, add your spaghetti and cook according to the package directions, usually around 8-10 minutes for al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and optional red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add drained spaghetti to the skillet with garlic oil. Toss well and gradually add reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency.
  5. Stir in chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic for garlic butter, parsley, and Parmesan. Mix until well blended.
  7. Slice the Italian bread lengthwise and place the halves cut side up on a baking sheet.
  8. Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread.
  9. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the garlic bread for about 10-12 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  10. If desired, broil the garlic bread for an additional 1-2 minutes for extra crispiness.
  11. Serve your warm spaghetti garlic bread immediately, garnishing with additional Parmesan and parsley.
