Step-by-Step Instructions for Sushi Bake
- Wash sushi rice until the water runs clear. Combine the rinsed rice with water in a pot, boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Let it steam off heat for 5-10 minutes.
- Season salmon fillet with salt and pepper, preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C), and cook for about 10 minutes or until flaky. Once cooked, flake salmon into bite-sized pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flaked salmon with imitation crab, soy sauce, Kewpie mayonnaise, sriracha, and sesame oil. Mix until creamy.
- In a bowl, stir together rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Fold mixture into cooled sushi rice.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread seasoned rice into a greased baking dish, layer nori on top, sprinkle sesame seeds, and distribute the creamy filling evenly.
- Bake in preheated oven for about 10 minutes, then broil for an additional 2 minutes until top is golden and crispy.
- Remove from oven, let cool for a few minutes, garnish with spicy mayonnaise, and cut into squares for serving.
