Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 casserole dish with butter.
  2. Cook cavatappi pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, melt unsalted butter over medium-low heat and stir in half of the seasoning mix for aromatic flavor.
  4. Whisk in all-purpose flour, cooking for about 1-2 minutes, then gradually stir in evaporated milk and heavy cream until thickened.
  5. Add remaining seasonings and mustard, fold in half of the cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Combine cooked pasta with the cheese sauce until fully coated.
  7. Layer half the macaroni in the greased dish, sprinkle with half the remaining cheese, repeat the layers.
  8. Bake for about 30 minutes, then broil for 3-4 minutes for a crispy top.
  9. Let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
