  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard Substitute with yellow mustard or omit for less tangy flavor.
  • 3 tablespoons Water No substitutes necessary.
  • 2 tablespoons Maple Syrup Substitute with agave syrup or any liquid sweetener in equal amounts.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Use fresh garlic for the best taste.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Umami Bomb Tofu
  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add two tablespoons of avocado oil.
  2. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully add 1-inch cubes of extra firm tofu to the pan.
  3. Sauté the tofu for about 10–15 minutes, turning occasionally, until it develops a golden-brown, crispy exterior.
  4. While the tofu is cooking, whisk together tamari, Dijon mustard, water, maple syrup, and minced garlic in a small bowl.
  5. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined and the sauce is smooth.
  6. Once the tofu has reached that perfect crispy state, pour the prepared sauce over it in the skillet.
  7. Gently stir to evenly coat the tofu and continue cooking for an additional 2–3 minutes.
  8. Remove the skillet from heat and your Umami Bomb Tofu is ready to serve!
