  • 3 tbls Balsamic Glaze Substitute with 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar and 1 tablespoon maple syrup if needed.
  • 1/2 cup Sun-Dried Tomatoes Opt for those packed in oil.
  • 2 tbls Tamari A gluten-free soy sauce alternative.
For Seasoning
  • 1 tbls Italian Seasoning Adjust according to taste.
  • 1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes Optional for a spicy hint.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Boil a pot of salted water and cook pasta according to package instructions for 8-12 minutes until al dente.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onion with a pinch of salt and sauté for 5 minutes.
  3. Continue to sauté the onions for 15 minutes until caramelized, stirring often and adding water if necessary.
  4. Add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and optional red pepper flakes. Sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  5. Mix in sun-dried tomatoes, balsamic glaze, and tamari. Simmer on low for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
  7. Combine the drained pasta with the sauce, adding reserved pasta water until desired creaminess is achieved.
  8. Serve warm, garnished with chopped parsley.
